biometrics done, documents mailed off...
well that was a bit of an ordeal.
I'm lucky to live near an Application Support Centre run by USCIS, but it was still a bit of a drive and I'd worked myself into a bit of a state by the time I got there. Rationally, I know I've done everything correctly and there's no reason (that I know of) I should be denied, but it's hard not to worry.
The people at the ASC did seem a bit confused by my dual citizenship at first, but they were able to confirm my information and collect my biometrics. All good.
And then she tried to send me on my way.
But wait! What about the document I printed that specifically says it has to be signed at my appointment by an officer?
Well, she refused. Pointed me to the exit. I tried again. Got directed to the exit again. Figured there wasn't much to be gained by arguing with an officer in a government office, so I left.
It took less than 10 minutes all in all, and then I proceeded to spend about 40 minutes sitting in the car frantically trying to work out if my application is doomed without this signature.
Anyway. According to just about every single reddit post on the topic posted in the last 5 years (and yes I read them all), USCIS won't even touch those extra documents, despite the fact the text explicitly says it needs to be signed and submitted with the application. 🤷🏻♀️
So with nothing else left to do, I drove all the way back to [redacted], stumbled into my local shipping centre and — somewhat hysterically — presented my pile of unsigned papers, passports, and shipping labels to be packed up and posted to New York.
And now...
we wait.

💥💰 Revealed: The Secret Empire of the Rothschilds, Rockefellers, and Morgans 💰💥
Prepare to uncover the shocking truth about the world's most influential families and their iron grip on the global economy. The Federal Reserve Cartel, comprised of the Rothschilds, Rockefellers, and Morgans, holds unparalleled power that extends far beyond the realm of oil.
Picture this: The Four Horsemen of Banking, including Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo, join forces with the Four Horsemen of Oil, such as Exxon Mobil, Royal Dutch/Shell, BP, and Chevron Texaco. But their domination doesn't stop there. They have extended their reach to encompass the music industry through an intricate network of private banks. These behemoths, along with Deutsche Bank, BNP, Barclays, and other European old money giants, control the strings of the music industry, enabling them to dictate its direction and influence.
The nefarious deeds of the Rockefeller dynasty are far-reaching, starting with their military-commercialization of music in the early 1900s. They orchestrated a diabolical plan to shift the world's standard tuning of music to 440 pitch. This insidious frequency was known to provoke greater aggression, psychosocial agitation, emotional distress, and even physical illnesses. Behind the scenes, this manipulation led to financial gains for those complicit in the monopoly, including agents, agencies, and companies connected to the North American Rockefeller crime cartel and elite organizations.
Fast forward to the late 1980s, when the Rockefellers summoned the top music executives and talent to a highly secretive meeting in Los Angeles. Their sinister agenda? To usher in the era of Controlled Rap Music, tightly linked to the privatization of U.S. prisons. These privately owned prisons, operated by the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Bush family, and other influential figures, served as money laundering operations, tax exemption schemes, and pyramid scheme operations.
The Rockefellers devised a cunning plan to control the rap industry and target black communities by promoting violent music that fueled oppression and civil unrest. They brought together top executives and leading black artists, binding them with confidentiality agreements. Their objective was clear: coordinate the violence within the rap music movement, while major record labels gained exclusive rights for production and distribution across the United States. As a reward, they would receive shares and points within the private prison systems.
The Masonic plan unfolded with precision, resulting in over 1,500 private prison systems housing more than 1 million black teenagers by 1990. These vulnerable youths, expressing the generational trauma imposed upon them, unknowingly contributed to the Rockefellers' malevolent scheme. The private prison systems reaped billions annually from the government, creating a vast money laundering network through inflated products, such as ramen noodles priced 8 times higher than their actual value. The flow of hundreds of billions from government funding, pyramid schemes, and insurance companies transformed the privatization of prisons into a multi-trillion-dollar venture.
Local courts and judges mercilessly sentenced petty criminals and first-time offenders, filling the ever-expanding private prisons. As a result, the United States now holds the dubious record for the highest number of incarcerated individuals in the world, with an unprecedented number of prisons. This was not an accident—it was a meticulously orchestrated plan by the Rockefellers.
But their influence doesn't end there. These silent thieves also manipulate elections, ensuring their grip on power remains unbroken.
Unmasking the true face of those who control the world, the Rothschilds and Rockefellers find themselves in the crosshairs of military alliance operations aimed at dismantling the Rothschilds' deep state power in Europe, the UK, Russia, and China.

Happy Birthday Scottish actor Mark Bonnar
Born November 19th 1968 in Edinburgh, Bonnar started his acting career in High School at Leith Academy, he recalls sitting with his friend one day when the names of all the award winners were read out, Mark says
"....I remember I was sitting in front of my best mate Keith, They were all the usual studious types. I turned to Keith to say 'it's all the posh and clever ones who win the prizes' and then my name was read out. I took a lot of ribbing about that."
After being talked out of doing a Drama course at school by his guidance teacher, doing physics instead, Mark left school with no real qualifications, and like many of us back then ended up doing a YTS, or youth training scheme to those that don't know. He worked in a library for two years, the beautiful building on McDonald Road in Edinburgh, before drifting in and out of other jobs and spending some time travelling in the US before the money ran out.
He returned home to the old job, this time driving the mobile library, but got bored of it and ended up in the planning offices of Edinburgh council before deciding to do a year's National Certificate in drama at Telford College and this time completed his course.
He then did three years at Glasgow's Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. In his final year, he won the Carlton Hobbs BBC Radio Award, which gave him six months with BBC Radio in London, where he's lived ever since.
The keen eyed of you out there will recognise a link to the other birthday boy today, as Mark plays regular Duncan Hunter in Shetland, Duncan is the biological father to Jimmie Perez's "daughter" Cassie.
Bonnar has appeared on many shows on television as Peter Mayhew in BBC1's New Blood and Chris in the highly successful Channel 4 comedy Catastrophe, alongside screen wife and fellow Scot Ashley Jensen.
Other television credits include Vera, Rebus, Taggart, Grantchester, Case Histories, The Paradise, Doctor Who, Psychoville, Taggart, Phoneshop and Paradox. He also played regular Bruno Jenkins in the 23 episodes of the BBC1 series Casualty and DCC Mike Dryden in the brilliant cop show Line of Duty.
Mark has also voiced video games, Assassins Creed and Battlefield one and children's tv show series Tree Fu Tom.
Also a regular on the theatre front where he has played Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing and the lead role in Cyrano de Bergerac. On Radio his most prolific part was in a Piper Alpha, the play chronicles the disaster minute-by-minute as it happened.
One of Mark's more recent shows was Guilt, set in my native Edinburgh it was a dark comedy about two brothers who accidentally run over and kill an old man, if you haven't seen it please look it up! He was also in the mini series Quiz about Charles Ingram, who was convicted of cheating his way to the jackpot in Who wants to be a Millionaire.
As with his friend Dougie Henshall, Markis set to appear in the TV movie Murder is easy, he ahs also been in a short TV "movie" Calamity James nd appeared in five episodes of the drama World on Fire and starred n the Ridley Scott biopc Napolean that is due to be released next week.

The youth brain drain is one of the biggest problems in Western Balkan countries, with some predicting that up to half of the skilled and educated young population may leave these countries in the next decades.
A research report published on Monday, Migration and Brain Drain – Comparative Analysis of Albania, North Macedonia, and Serbia, shows that young people leave these countries not only because of low salaries and economic issues but also because of corruption, crime, political instability and lack of security.
The report was published as a part of the Regional Youth Leadership Mobility Programme, which is a collaboration between the Centre for Science and Innovation for Development, the Youth Educational Forum from North Macedonia, and the Youth Initiative for Human Rights from Serbia.
The paper focuses on how to attract young migrants back to their home countries.
Respondents in Serbia and North Macedonia voiced pessimism about the possibility of returning, but family ties remained a strong motive for doing so. Youngsters in Albania expressed similar reasons for staying in Albania, such as strong family ties and the desire to contribute to the country’s development.
Natalija Zunic, a graduate student at the Belgrade Faculty of Political Sciences and co-author of the report, told BIRN that one of the main recommendations they highlighted is better advertising and recognition of support programmes offered by government and non-governmental organisations that address migrants who want to return home.
“The biggest thing we noticed is the very low representation of programmes to support migrants who return. They exist, but 80 of our respondents were not aware that they exist,” she said.
Many of these schemes offer the same support that potential returnees seek, such as support for establishing of new businesses with the capital they earned in foreign countries.
But one problem noted in Serbia is that the state no longer recognises the young people who left as an integral part of the state. “When they come back, they no longer have a sense of their home state because it doesn’t treat them like that,” Zunic said.
It is mainly young and skilled individuals that are leaving Serbia. The average age of emigrants is 28.7 years, compared to the national average age of 42.2 years.
A survey conducted by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy revealed that 64.5 per cent of Serbian youth would emigrate if given the chance. Their main reasons include securing a better future (22.7 per cent), higher salaries (20.1 per cent), and a higher living standard (19.6 per cent).
One is five emigrants also leaves with their entire family, indicating permanent departure.
North Macedonia, with its small population, is also facing significant emigration. The 2021 census highlighted a loss of 200,000 inhabitants compared to the 2002 census, as the population decreased from around 2 million to 1.8 million. This decline is primarily attributed to migration rather than a low birth rate.
Data in Albania shows that there is also a mismatch between educational programmes and labour market demands, which contributes to the brain-drain. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that few young people don’t have the opportunity to join quality internships.
Results of a survey conducted in Serbia show that students who gained internship experience are often not satisfied with its quality, citing another report with the same project, The Role of Career Counselling and Internship Programmes in Facilitating Students’ Transition from University to Workspace.
Participants without internship experience criticized career counselling offices for inconsistent availability and perceived rude attitudes, particularly in public universities.
Isidora Petkovic, a student of the Belgrade Faculty of Political Sciences and co-author of the report, told BIRN that when young people go to an internship, they “do everything except their job”, explaining that this includes some side office duties.
The solution for that is better mentoring and leadership, “someone who would guide them from the very beginning to the end of the internship”, she said, adding that it’s also hard to get an internship, for which you usually need “good connections”.

Hello lovely nerds,
I have exciting news; my gofundme goals have actually gone down significantly, I was told that I still qualify for the Tier 5 youth mobility scheme visa which allows for study and work in the UK for 2 years. It also costs significantly less than the Student Visa does. Therefore, my gofundme goals have dropped from 20,500 to 6,000. And we're half way there1
Please share this around - if only to get word of the youth mobility visa farther out. And if you enjoy my blogging, think about dropping a dollar or two into the bucket.

throbb? Sansaery? Daemon/Nettles?
THROBB 10/10 ship name. In the books I don't really ship them at all, Robb feels SO much younger than Theon. But show!throbb absolutely fucks. There's absolutely a queer undertone to this dynamic that a better writer could have explored, especially when you utilize the quote "I should have been with him. Where was I? I should have died with him." Especially since the show went out of its way to make Theon his only friend in the war. Neither of them were beating the fruity allegations when Robb told Theon he didn't have to call him 'your grace' when no one else was around. And so if EYE was writing Theon in the aftermath of the Red Wedding, I would have shelved all the castration jokes in favor of Theon truly having to grapple with Robb's death and his feelings surrounding him (jealousy, unrequited love, repressed bisexualty, etc). It wasn't just that they were best friends, but Theon loved him, was in love with him, and he still betrayed him. Could something have happened? Something that was always just beneath the surface? Maybe, but now he'll never know. Robb should have been an ever-present figure in Theon's arc for the rest of the series. And how so much of Theon's quest for redemption is rooted in accepting the way in which he loved Robb, accepting his own grief for what it was, and being able to let it go to finally attain absolution.
SANSAERY - I feel like I'm in the minority in that I actually don't care about this ship all that much... And if we're keeping it 100 I don't really like Natalie's Margaery all that much either. I definitely think they should have kept her the same age as Sansa, and I think I'd feel better about them in the show? Idk there's something about her going from a scheming, but still ultimately a pawn-of-the-patriarchy teen girl, to the sexy seductress with quippy lines to shade Cersei and sleeps with a pubescent child bc the writers are freaks that kind Icks me. And even in the book it's hard to really think of their friendship as anything tangible when Sansa is so desperate for a friend and then gets dropped the second the Tyrells plans for her falls through. HOWEVER, should Margy live (and I hope she does!) I would really like to see them reunite at the end, after everything they've both been through.
DAEMON/NETTLES - If "get a job! get away from her!" was a ship. I genuinely think of them as like Jason Bateman falling for Juno while she's a teenager and carrying his surrogate child simply because they bonded over nerd shit. (obviously sans the child) Like he's old now, and she represents the youth he misses and the ~Targaryen Values~ that he's obsessed with. (the dragonriding, the ferocity). I don't think she was his daughter, but I definitely think he treated her like one even if they had a sexual relationship. He traded Rhaenyra in when Nettles was the best replacement for what Rhaenyra no longer had- youth. Not to mention, he replaced Rhaena too, his own daughter, for the one that had a dragon and could fight alongside him. And the thing for Nettles is that Daemon was her only real access to social mobility, despite her own capabilities. I'm so glad that old bitch died and she got to live as a fire goddess in the Vale.

In many ways, ditto in so-called Australia.
Aus has a deep dark history of ‘blackbirding’ (i.e. slavery) where white colonisers kidnapped people from nearby Pacific islands and forced them to work the fields.
The kidnapping doesn’t happen anymore. Instead, we have the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme where workers from surrounding South East Asian and Pacific island nations come work in Australia – normally in the fields.
Workers under the PALM scheme are technically afforded the same rights as every other worker in Australia but agricultural employers rely on PALM scheme workers’ lack of knowledge about their rights and their vulnerable position to exploit them.
Even if you’re a locally born worker, agriculture is a notorious industry. It’s so bad that in 2013 the government body in charge of enforcing labour laws went on a Harvest Trail inquiry and recovered $1million AUD. But over a decade later, the only thing they’ve really done about it is create a new website?? A lot of these farms are remote and so rely on lack of oversight to get away with ongoing exploitation.
Which is why during covid lockdowns, it was an absolute joke that the government tried to get city based youth into fruit picking jobs when those jobs are so well known for being back-breaking and underpaid.
Labour laws and their enforceability suck here – but it’s particularly bad in agriculture.
kill the rhetoric that americans are so lazy that they won't take farm jobs. americans take labor intensive jobs all the time. the reason no americans will take farm jobs is because agricultural work is exempt from the vast majority of labor laws and labor protections, including the use of child labor. so only immigrants - people who have little to no protection from the law or other options for work - take most of these jobs. we have created a permanent underclass of labor and then say that americans are just lazy for not volunteering to be part of the underclass.
there are actually good discussions to be had about how alienated many americans are from food production (hi hello that's what my only popular post is about), but the real solution to this problem is to protect agricultural workers, citizens or not. ban child labor in its entirety. punish corporations and farm owners that abuse and poison their workers. reform the immigration process so that these people aren't barred from legal protection and recourse.
agricultural workers have been exploited since the dawn of civilization, but the US in specific has been doing this since slavery, and it evolved in the 30s when FDR's labor laws excluded them specifically because most agricultural workers at the time were black. now it's mostly latino immigrants.
food doesn't fucking pick or slaughter itself. but citizens aren't going to take these jobs when the entire industry is rife with abuse - both legal and illegal - and horrific wages and working conditions.

The Role of a Brand Designer in Shaping a Successful Brand
In today’s competitive market, businesses need a distinct identity to stand out. This is where a brand designer plays a pivotal role. Whether you are a startup seeking to establish a presence or an established company looking for a rebrand, the work of a brand designer can make or break how your business is perceived by consumers. In this article, we will dive into what a brand designer does, the essential skills they bring to the table, and why their work is crucial for building a successful brand.
What Is a Brand Designer? A brand designer is a creative professional responsible for crafting the visual identity of a brand. This involves designing elements such as logos, color schemes, typography, packaging, and other visual components that communicate the brand’s message, values, and mission to its audience. The goal is to create a cohesive and memorable brand experience across all customer touchpoints, ensuring that every interaction a consumer has with the brand feels consistent and aligned with the brand's identity.
While graphic designers focus primarily on individual design elements, a brand designer works at a strategic level, ensuring that every visual decision aligns with the brand’s core identity and long-term goals. Their work goes beyond aesthetics, touching on customer psychology, market trends, and business strategy.
The Key Responsibilities of a Brand Designer A brand designer takes on various responsibilities to ensure the brand's success. Here are some of the key tasks they handle:
Brand Identity Development At the core of their work, brand designers create and develop a brand's identity. This involves research into the company’s values, target audience, and competitors. The goal is to design a visual style that not only stands out in the marketplace but also resonates with the target demographic. This can include creating a logo, defining the brand's color palette, and developing design guidelines for consistent application across platforms.
Logo Design A logo is often the first thing that comes to mind when people think of a brand. It is the symbol that consumers associate with the business, and a well-designed logo is essential for establishing a strong brand presence. A brand designer uses their expertise to craft logos that are not only visually appealing but also convey the brand’s message at a glance. They consider factors like simplicity, memorability, and versatility to ensure the logo works across various mediums, such as digital platforms and print materials.
Typography and Color Scheme Selection Typography and color are powerful tools in brand communication. A brand designer selects fonts and colors that align with the brand’s personality and mission. For instance, luxury brands may opt for elegant serif fonts and deep, rich colors like navy or gold, while playful or youthful brands might use bold, vibrant colors and quirky, modern fonts. The right combination of typography and color evokes the desired emotional response from the target audience, helping to build brand recognition and loyalty.
Consistency Across Platforms Consistency is crucial in branding. Brand designers ensure that all visual elements, from the website and social media graphics to business cards and packaging, are consistent. This uniformity helps build trust with consumers, as they can easily recognize the brand wherever they encounter it. A strong brand is recognizable not just by its logo but by its consistent use of colors, fonts, and design elements across various platforms.
Designing for Different Mediums A brand designer must be adaptable, as they design for both digital and physical mediums. This includes websites, mobile apps, social media profiles, print advertisements, packaging, and more. Each medium has its unique requirements, and the designer must ensure that the brand's visual identity is effectively communicated across all of them. For example, a logo that works well on a billboard may need to be simplified for a mobile app icon.
Collaborating with Other Teams Brand designers often collaborate with other professionals, such as marketing teams, copywriters, and web developers, to bring the brand's vision to life. This ensures that the brand's voice, message, and visual identity are aligned across all aspects of the business, from advertising campaigns to website design. Effective collaboration is key to maintaining a cohesive brand experience for the consumer.
Essential Skills of a Brand Designer To succeed in their role, brand designers need a diverse skill set that goes beyond graphic design. Here are some of the key skills required:
Creativity Creativity is at the heart of brand design. A successful brand designer must be able to think outside the box and develop unique visual solutions that capture the essence of the brand. This requires a deep understanding of design principles, trends, and the ability to translate abstract concepts into tangible designs.
Strategic Thinking Brand design is not just about making things look good; it's about aligning the visual elements with the brand’s overall strategy. This requires a strong understanding of the business’s goals, target audience, and competitive landscape. A strategic mindset helps brand designers create visuals that not only attract attention but also serve the long-term objectives of the company.
Attention to Detail From selecting the right shade of color to ensuring pixel-perfect logo placement, attention to detail is crucial in brand design. Small inconsistencies can weaken the brand's image, so brand designers must be meticulous in their work, ensuring that every element is flawless and cohesive.
Communication Brand designers need to effectively communicate with clients and team members to understand their vision and translate it into visual designs. Clear communication is essential for receiving feedback, presenting design concepts, and ensuring that the final product aligns with the brand's goals.
Adaptability As trends and technologies evolve, so too must brand design. A good brand designer stays up-to-date with the latest design trends, software, and marketing practices to ensure that their work remains relevant and effective in a constantly changing market.
Technical Proficiency In addition to creativity, brand designers need strong technical skills. They should be proficient in design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as have a solid understanding of web design principles, typography, and color theory. Knowledge of UX/UI design is also beneficial for creating user-friendly digital experiences.
Why a Brand Designer is Crucial to Business Success A brand designer plays a critical role in shaping the perception of a company. In today’s highly competitive and saturated marketplace, a strong brand is often what sets successful companies apart from their competitors. Here are a few reasons why hiring a brand designer is a worthwhile investment:
Creating a Strong First Impression First impressions matter, and a brand designer ensures that a business makes a positive one. Whether it’s through a well-designed logo, a cohesive color scheme, or a user-friendly website, the designer ensures that the brand is seen as professional, trustworthy, and memorable from the first interaction.
Building Trust and Loyalty Consistency in branding builds trust with consumers. When people encounter a brand that is visually consistent across all platforms, they are more likely to trust the business and become loyal customers. A brand designer plays a key role in ensuring that this consistency is maintained.
Standing Out in the Market In a crowded marketplace, standing out is essential. A unique and memorable brand identity, crafted by a skilled brand designer, helps a company differentiate itself from competitors. This is particularly important for startups or companies entering new markets, where establishing a distinct identity is crucial for gaining traction.
Supporting Marketing Efforts A cohesive brand identity amplifies marketing efforts. Whether through advertising campaigns, social media, or content marketing, a strong brand identity makes it easier to connect with the target audience and create a lasting impact. Brand designers ensure that all marketing materials are visually aligned with the brand’s identity, strengthening the overall message.
